Kender is no more or less a ripoff than, say, elf or dwarf. Or the suggested "halfling." If we're going to have to start paying royalties, we'd probably have to start with the Tolkien estate and then move on to TSR before we got to the Dragonlance authors. The whole world -- and virtually everything...

Merc 1 allowed builders to do this, because it was descended from Diku, which also allowed builders to do this. Ultimately, what happened was that inconsistencies crept in over time, to the point where things were getting pretty out of hand, and restricted efforts to extend the level range of the ga...

That's not *totally* true. Second attack and third attack are completely separate skills. Third attack has a much lower percentage chance to hit than second attack does. If you practice third attack without practicing second attack, you'll only ever get two hits. plus you'll get the second less ofte...

BR Writers Email Group
The BR writers email group has been reborn! Mystique asked me about it tonight, and after a bit of searching, I discovered that the old one had gone defunct. I have taken the liberty of restarting it, and it is now open once again for subscriptions at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/brwriters (Note: ...

I didn't like the idea of placing limitations on Druid's healing ability and who they can target with it. Druids tend to be a bit underplayed as is, since many players go in for the more "tanky" types. Let's not give anyone a reason to shun the class further. If anything, go the other direction. Pe...

Perhaps, if you'll permit me an anachronism, we can look at it like the Force in Star Wars. There wasn't anything that made a Jedi "good." They just had to BE good. On the other hand, there WERE things that even a well-meaning Jedi could do that would "turn" him or her to the Dark Side, like killing...
Here is the crux of what I am trying to say. There is imbalance between hp and mana. This is true. However, it is also not accidental. There are several reasons why this is a desirable feature in the game. To put this into context, we'll compare the regen rates of elves/druids to those of dwarves/a...
