I don't know if it's *quite* medieval enough a setting, but I think an area based on/similar to the book "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman might fit there niftily...

I don't know if I can pick just one...the mauve dragon that EB pointed out is up there; I still enjoy sending people off to look for that one. Several others off the top of my head, in no particular order... Rosencrantz and Guildenstern The tiny grey mouse Pele, god of fire a towering, black scaled ...

Reasonable? Sure. But I like it this way. It provides an additional role for equipment, the rock hammer/plasma mallet/mage masher role. It adds a level of complexity if your offhand weapon is disarmed in combat. Anything that adds complexity to combat and makes more items useful is good for the game...

Many, many, many people already had an avatar character at hand. Plus, we graciously offered -- at the cost of many, many, many headaches down the road -- to allow people to have their characters restored when they either gave up or avatared the demon character. This removed an objection many people...

I don't think I like this. The last thing I want to do is to give people another reason to want to hang around at a certain level and never hero. People who have done the right things and heroed their characters and play their heroes regularly should be able to at least look around. I don't want to ...

Yes, that's it exactly. These kinds of things have been building up lately, and it's been eating at me.

Yes, I'm sorry about all that. Like I said in my other post, I'm not mad at you at all.

Hit point farming bots? You have got to be kidding me. Are we going to have to have the mud ask a challenge question every thirty seconds to get people to actually PLAY THE FREAKING GAME? I can't do this. I can't even talk about this without using words that are inappropriate for this forum. I am ju...

Ghaleon: Heroes should ALWAYS get their weapons back when they get disarmed I partly agree. It would save everyone a lot of trouble, especially if one were accidentally disarmed in a mortal accessable area. It would also prevent heroes from exchanging tainted weapons. Being disarmed is an important...

I'm not. How the hell does a player get a 1500 damroll at level 50?

"That's not a bug, that's a feature!" Seriously, though, I went to fix this very issue quite some time ago, but found that it just made kender WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too easy. Allow me to illustrate: The backstab damage multiplier is 2 + (level / 8). At level 40, your backstab does seven times normal dama...

Our concept of "armor class" is lifted more or less directly, as I understand it, from Dungeons and Dragons, and not even a particularly recent edition of Dungeons and Dragons. The idea comprises two factors, which are different in real life but equivalent in game terms: a) the difficulty of landing...

I had this idea a while back, and I was going to add it. I don't know why I never got around to it. It's simple enough.

It is my own personal preference that personalized items continue to be personalized to just one character by default. Quest items and star swords are the exception, not the rule.
