There is some code floating around out there that Dive worked on a while ago to crate spec_kung_fu for mobs. It was approved a while ago, but I think things have gotten stalled along the way to getting things finalized. I'd like to see it finished, since I've got a completed area ready to go in once...

Well, there is no "Acolyte of Jello," but there is a "Jello, the Acolyte." Perhaps that's the one you meant...

Now please bear in mind, I am a father of four and a dedicated husband. I do work alot of overtime when possible, so I will try my best to keep you all pleased without taking to long. However, as the saying goes, "Patience is a virtue." Don't worry at all about taking too long. We'd much rather hav...

Don't worry... this has been part of the plan as a small portion of the sewers from the start.

Why base things on gold storred in the bank? Traditionally, dragon's hoard their gold, going as far as to sleep on top of the pile. No self respecting dragon is going to let some measley bank clerk so much as glace at even one of his coins. If the dragon isn't guarding any of his gold himself, it's ...

wet, slimy area input

Alright, time to breathe some life into this forum... I'm doing some planning for the next area I'll be writing, and I'm going to write. I'll be doing a complete, from-the-ground-up overhaul of the sewers (because frankly, that area sucks big time). As I work on the area, I'd like to make it much mo...

I guess my whole "sparringly" comment was meant for single race items. I do agree with Dive that it would nice to see a lot more items that are allowed for two or three races, but not others.

Keep in mind that race-specific equipment should be used rather sparringly. I'm only planning on making a handful of items in this area race-specific. Anyone else who wants to use these object flags (assuming they get approved) is welcome to do so, but don't plan on going overboard. Still, I'm glad ...

Code That I Want (for the mud's benefit, of course...)

Well, I'm getting close to finishing a new area. Before I'm done with it, though, I need some new code additions to help me fully realize my vision. I'm posting 'em here to see what everyone thinks, and to hopefully get approval to have 'em added into the codebase. First, and most importantly, I'd l...

Well, to propose a happy meadium between to the two extremes of "stacked HP's is a bug" and "stacked HP's is a feature," why not code it so that you can use spells to boost your HP's over their max ammount, but have any extra hit points deteriorate every tick. The ammount they deteriorate each round...

If we carry this idea far enough, we get to a pretty complex, but pretty cool idea that I had suggested back on the old forums. Imagine not just different 'races' for mobs, but different 'species.' Different species would end up with different types of bahavior and different strengths and weaknesses...

If the macs at your school are running under OS 9.2 or earlier, get yourself a copy of Rapscallion. That's the program I used up until I switched to OSX. If the school's computers are all running OSX, get Cantrip. I don't like cantrip *quite* as much as I liked Rapscallion, as the settings are a lit...

As a quick note, the object guidelines that I included with the builder's guide was always kinda sketchy, and has always remained somewhat of an early draft. They were also designed specifically for mortal levels. I'm all for going back and looking at them, and seeing how they can be tweaked to bett...

As for no-pick doors, the only reason that you say they're overused (even though I've never thought of it as such) is that it is the only way we builders have to create some sort of limiting factor for a door. But as a limiting factor, it doesn't even really work, since pass door spells, potions, an...
