Sad Announcement

Post by kiri »

Dear Realmers,
It is with sadness that I have to inform you that our beloved immortal, Tom, passed away
in April in a car accident. He was a young man with a bright spirit and future, and I know he loved BR
as well as all of the players here as his second home. Tom had been very troubled recently and hopefully he
is in peace somewhere, and we will always love him and think of him with fondness.
I will be accepting any emails with your feelings and memories about Tom to include on the BR website around his picture,
which will commemorate him.
Please email them to me at
He was well loved, and I will try to get information for flowers, I will let you know if I know more.

22-year-old killed in crash

A 22-year-old Martinsburg, W.Va., man died early Friday morning after the
1992 Honda Civic he was driving hit a utility pole, police at the Berkeley
County Sheriff's Office said.

Thomas Newton Paulson, 22, was driving south on Winchester Avenue just
south of the intersection with West Virginia routes 9, 11 and 45 when he
struck the pole about 3:30 a.m., said Lt. Dennis Streets.

The deputy who investigated the accident could not be reached Friday for
additional details about the accident.

Paulson's mother, Penny Clayberg Paulson, reached Friday night at her home
in Greencastle, Pa., said her son was coming home from his job as a disc
jockey Friday morning at the time of the accident.

Paulson was married. He had been working as a disc jockey since 1998, the
same year he graduated from high school, his mother said.

Paulson grew up in a house on Summit Avenue in Hagerstown and was
homeschooled. He took electronics classes for 1 1/2 years at the James
Rumsey Technical Institute in Martinsburg, Clayberg Paulson said.

He began a business last year to work on computers and has lived in
several places in Martinsburg recently, she said.

"He had a nice, big smile. He had a positive attitude," she said. "He was
very animated when he talked. He was very bright and cheerful.

"He could make you laugh really good."

In addition to working as a disc jockey, Paulson had taken ballroom dance
lessons and played drums in a band.

"It's kind of hard to know he's gone," his mother said.
