throwing weapons

Post by disaster »

how is damage determined for a throwing weapon? since when identified they don't have an average dam, is it based on the level of the weapon? does the level not matter at all?

From a secondhand report as to how it actually works (in other words, mostly accurate, but not entirely): throwing weapons' damages are based on the thrower's level, the thrower's strength, the number of value1 (I believe) out of the internal four values on the throwing item (99% of these are set to 0, like they should be), and some amount of randomness in where the mob is hit (i.e. a hitroll calculation plays into it as well). As far as I know, the only throwing weapon that does more damage than any other (thus, is better) is an avian's plucked feather.
