Barren Realms MUD

Help! I'm at my best friend's house and trying to mud from his computer which runs Linux. The telnet on here refuses to connect to Barren! Does anyone know of an easy to install client or telnet program or a setting I could tweak to fix this?

If telnet is refusing to connect to BR, then there's not much you can do. What does it say when you try? Are you using the port number? Remember, we're on port 8000, so you have to do:

$ telnet barren.coredcs.com 8000

Can't help more without more info...
