drab scylla and gaudy charybdis

during the downtime monday, i visited two muds at random as a sort of reconnaissance mission. 
believe me when i tell you that these were not cherry-picked. and they appear to have players.
anyway, this just made me appreciate BR's aesthetics a lot more.
