Barren Realms Stats

Post by Anakin »

I thought this could be linked to Barren Realms Code so I put it here.

That said, I was thinking maybe it could be a nice idea (fun and amusing) to have a Stats page. In the page maybe we could put:

Most Deaths
Most Kills
Most Time Online
Most Talkative
Best Singer
Highest Void Count
Most Questions
Best Business Person
Most Suicides
King of the Hill

It has its flaws (like the infamous AFK). Also, it could be reset maybe every week or every month.

Edit:
I edited the spellings and I just realized that the poll was deleted. :(

I can't wait for the people who continuously die over and over spamming the mud just to get that esteemed "most deaths".

or

The one who signs on and leaves themselves idle for the next millenium to get the "most voids".

It really would be fun, but as Divebomb said, it would be easily abused. We would never know who had the legitimate records. Just a few bad seeds ruin it for everyone. I chose not to vote because I am neutral on the subject right now. I LOVE little things like this, but it needs some more thought. Sadly, my brain is fried more often than not because of my work schedule. I'll try to be more productive with my criticism in the future.

on the void one how about you have to be active for a certain amount of minutes to be counted (keeping the time you need to stay on a secret) that would elimanate ppl just comming on and sitting there. ansd the suicides make it so that there is a time limit on that too like it will only count if its after a certain time or make it count like 1 count for every 20 suicides or something

Alternatively, if the counts were reset on a per-boot basis, perhaps abuse would be less and the numbers more legitimate...

In either case, I'd suggest that
  • number of levels gained and
total (mud-wide) number of levels gained
be added to the original list, too. :-)

i like the idea of number of levels gained, could be interesting in count, and i REALLY think that stuff like this should reset when the mud does

i think it might be fun to have if it reset every time the mud booted.

but i can also think of a lot of things i want to have before this (*grins and points at the 'code you really want' thread*)...
